Travel To Fiji
All accommodations in Fiji are taken care of. You will be staying at the Raffles Gateway Hotel in Nadi and taking group transportation each day. Breakfast will be at the hotel and consists of a traditional American breakfast and pastry bar. Lunch will be in the village and varies depending on the location. Dinners will be primarily at the hotel with a few local restaurants mixed in.
The trip will leave from Los Angeles on Saturday evening, cross the International Date Line, and arrive in Fiji on Monday morning. Your first day includes preparing the clean water systems, receiving training on how to install and teach families to use the system, learning about the Fijian culture and doing some shopping.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday you will be traveling to villages and installing the clean water systems. Depending on the village we are working in the travel time can be anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes.
In each village you will meet the local leadership, get an overview of the village, and be dispersed to homes. At each home you will prepare the system, train the family to use it, and provide education and information about clean water and proper sanitation.
Saturday you will travel by high-speed catamaran to Plantation Island Resort and spend the day relaxing and enjoying the resort facilities. That evening you will enjoy dinner at the harbor back on the main island, do some shopping and experience a traditional fire dance.
Sunday there will be time for last minute shopping before leaving Fiji in the evening, cross the International Date Line, and arrive in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
