Darrel LarsonChairman of the Boarddarrel@givecleanwater.org Darrel Larson serves as the Campus/Missions pastor at Newbreak in San Diego, California, a church of over 2300. Newbreak is a leader in global missions projects supporting work in over 60 countries. Prior to working at Newbreak, Darrel served for 8 years as the Country Director for Mexico with Amor Ministries, a non-profit house building organization that mobilizes 25,000 volunteers to build 1200 houses per year in Mexico. While at Amor, Darrel served on the appropriate technologies team researching clean water filters, solar powered lighting, and composting toilets. “Water born diseases are the number one killer in the world. I’m excited to be a part of changing the world through the gift of clean drinking water. Come change the world with us!” |

Sumner TisonDirector and SecretarySumner obtained a Bachelor and Master in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. “I wanted to have a job where I could help others. So I worked in the blood fractionation industry from 1986 to 2002.” In 2002, Sumner began work at IDEC Pharmaceuticals and was part of team that constructed $400 million biotech manufacturing facility in Oceanside, which has been purchased by Genentech. Sumner continues to work for Genentech and as manager of Plant Engineering. “One of the more interesting parts of my job is the production of Water for Injection- water that meets the government requirement for purity so that it can be injected into the human body.” Sumner lives in San Diego with his wife of eighteen years, Deborah, and their five children. “I have always liked water and methods for making it pure. So when I heard about the “Give Clean Water Project” I wanted to be a part of it. I’m excited to help others get clean water and use my past experiences and background.” |

Dan LambornDirector and TreasurerDan Lamborn graduated from UC Davis in 1979 and from University of San Diego in 1982. After working in a judicial clerkship for a year I joined the Office of the District Attorney, County of San Diego, in 1983. I work for the Office of the District Attorney in the capacity of Chief Deputy District Attorney having worked for the office for 25 years. I have served over the last 15 years with charitable organizations having gone to seven countries to conduct a variety of work from medical assistance to construction. “I am involved in GCW to bring clean water, health, and encouragement to the people of our world.” |

Rodney StramelDirectorDr. Rodney D. Stramel received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Norte Dame in 1986. After his post doctoral study at the University of Texas, Austin; he was employed in the chemical industry for 9 years. For the past 12 years, he has been with Hewett Packard, where he currently is a Research Scientist. Rodney has been actively involved in volunteer charity work since 2001 serving as a Sherpa, a medical assistant, and construction worker. Brett ToerienDirectorBrett was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. After completing his college education in Electrical Engineering, he started his own company Mr. Alarm where he handled all facets of the small firm’s security business. 6 years later Brett immigrated to the United States and settled down in San Diego. Brett worked for QUALCOMM until he started his own technology business, Axiom xCell, where he serves as President and CEO. Brett has been actively involved in volunteer charity work for more than a decade; serving on multiple boards and leading teams of volunteers on various programs throughout the world. “I want to be able to look back at my life and see so much more than the work I do to pay my bills. Serving others through volunteering is incredibly rewarding and satisfying to me.” |

Larry J. BradleyDirectorLarry Bradley served in the United States Coast Guard for 4 years including serving on the U.S. COAST GUARD CUTTER DALLAS, during the Vietnam War in 69′ & 70′. Larry graduated from National University in 83′ with Bachelors in Business Administration. In 1984 he became a co-owner of Signtech Electrical Advertising helping to grow the company from 5 employees to 105. Larry sold his half of the business and retired in the fall of 2007. “It was a fun, challenging career in which I was greatly blessed in so many ways. In my retirement it is my desire to give back through serving and giving.” Larry is 60 years old and resides in San Diego with his wife of 24 years, Celia. They have two children Ty, 21 and Torrie, 19. “I enjoy serving as an active Give Clean Water Board Member. GCW is a commitment to providing clean water, a basic need that so many people throughout the world lack. I enjoy doing this type of outreach for people regardless of their race or creed. For me what is most important is that in providing for such a basic need it opens the door for me to share my faith in Jesus Christ.” |
