For many in Fiji, the small cluster of islands 1,700 miles east of Australia and renowned for its bottled water, obtaining clean drinking water is a daily struggle. Last Wednesday, with theVolcom Fiji Pro on hold, awaiting the arrival of the swell that steamrolled through Cloudbreak later in the week, a group of pros and contest organizers joined Give Clean Water (GCW) on a day trip to distribute water filters to two nearby villages. Irregular carted drinking water left many families thirsty and reliant upon contaminated water sources resulted in illness. MOTHER of two Setaita Wati, along with fellow residents of the Housing Assistance Relief Trust (HART) home in Ba were all smiles after they became proud recipients of water filters.
Ms Wati and residents in the Ba district received water filters that were brought by American non-government organisation-Give Clean Water.
